PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device having a construction for contributing to a reduction of a load in a design stage.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device includes an upper shaft 27 to which a steering wheel 2 is mounted, an intermediate shaft 30 connected to the upper shaft 27, an input shaft 22 connected to the intermediate shaft 30, an electric motor, a worm wheel 94 to be rotated with torque input from the electric motor, an output shaft 24 to which the worm wheel 94 is mounted, and a torsion bar 23 connecting the input shaft 22 and the output shaft 24 to each other, the intermediate shaft 30 having a breakage allowable site 43 to be broken when torque not smaller than reference torque operates thereon. |
