PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for efficiently, simply and massively synthesizing a useful polyphenol derivative, especially teadenols A and B, and a pyrane ring structure-having compound having a dideoxy structure thereof.SOLUTION: A method for stereospecifically synthesizing the cis isomer of teadenol A type and the trans isomer of teadenol B type comprises using an R-substituted phenol (wherein, ≤four R groups may be present and are each identically or independently differently H, a halogen, nitro, 1-4C alkyl, OH, 1-4C alkoxy, 3-7C cycloalkylmethoxy, 1-4C alkylthio, 1-4C alkylamino or 1-4C dialkylamino) as a starting substance, oxidizing the alkene portion with OsO4 to form a diol portion, and further subjecting the product to a cyclization reaction using a Pd catalyst. |
