Provided are: a method for forming a solid polymer electrolyte membrane or a catalyst layer, which can form a solid polymer electrolyte membrane or a catalyst layer each having good durability and having little wrinkles formed thereon; a method for producing a fluorinated ion exchange resin solution or a paste for catalyst layer formation purposes each of which can be used for the above-mentioned formation method; and a method for producing a membrane electrode assembly for solid polymer-type fuel cells which has good durability and good electric power-generating properties. A fluorinated ion exchange resin solution is used, which is produced by treating a powder or a pellet of a fluorinated ion exchange resin having a cation exchange group with hydrogen peroxide and then mixing the resultant product with a solvent. |
