PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the characteristics of a polymer electrolyte or the change in properties thereof, by examining a polymer electrolyte forming an electrode catalyst layer directly.SOLUTION: The evaluation method includes a preparation step for preparing a membrane-electrode assembly including an electrolyte membrane consisting of a polymer electrolyte, and an electrode catalyst layer supported on the electrolyte membrane and having a catalyst and a polymer electrolyte, a collection step for collecting the electrode catalyst layer from the membrane-electrode assembly, a dissolution step for forming a solution by dissolving the electrode catalyst layer thus collected into a solvent, a separation step for separating the polymer electrolyte from the solution, and an evaluation step for evaluating the polymer electrolyte on the basis of the polymer electrolyte thus separated. |
