Storing hydrogen in a high-temperature-storage medium, comprises: passing hydrogen to a low-temperature storage medium (108) that absorbs hydrogen at an ambient temperature, to form a metal hydride during absorbing hydrogen, with the release of heat; and passing hydrogen to a high-temperature-storage medium (110) that absorb hydrogen above a threshold temperature, to form a complex hydride during absorbing hydrogen, where the high-temperature storage medium is at least partially heated on or above the threshold temperature by heat, and is discharged during storing the hydrogen in the low-temperature storage medium, to store hydrogen in the high-temperature storage medium. An independent claim is also included for a hydrogen storage device (100) for storing hydrogen in the high-temperature-storage medium, comprising: a storage container (102), in which a low-temperature storage medium and a high-temperature storage medium are arranged, and which accommodates hydrogen by low-temperature storage medium at ambient temperature, with the formation of metal hydride and with the release of heat, where the hydrogen is accommodated by the high-temperature storage medium with the formation of a complex hydride above a threshold temperature, and in which the high-temperature storage medium is heated by the heat, and is discharged during the storage of hydrogen in the low-temperature storage medium; a hydrogen supply device (104) for supplying hydrogen to the storage container; a cooling device for cooling at least a portion of the storage container; and a control device, by which the cooling device is controlled and/or regulated, such that the temperature of at least a portion of the high-temperature storage medium for storing hydrogen in the portion of the high-temperature storage medium is >= the threshold temperature.</p>
