PURPOSE: A method for refining molten steel is provided to easily produce the molten steel containing low phosphorous by preventing the influx of the phosphorous from slag to the molten steel again. CONSTITUTION: A method for refining molten steel is as follows: a step of blowing inert gas to the top of slag through a lance after blowing the molten steel is finished (S10); a step of stirring the slag with the inert gas for a predetermined time to mix a high concentration P_2O_5 layer and a low concentration P_2O_5 layer in the slag, thereby homogenizing the concentration of P_2O_5 (S20); and a step of taking out the molten steel through an outlet after the homogenization is finished (S30).
