PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comparator that implements a high speed operation by adjusting a charge amount of a parasitic capacitance.SOLUTION: The comparator having: a differential input section having a differential pair comprising a first transistor and a second transistor, and a constant current generation section; and an output section for outputting a Hi signal or Lo signal on the basis of output signals of the differential input section includes: a first rectification element connected between a first input terminal and a control electrode of the first transistor to allow a flow of forward current from the first input terminal to the first transistor; a second rectification element connected between a second input terminal and a control electrode of the second transistor to allow a flow of forward current from the second input terminal to the second transistor; and a voltage application section for applying between the first rectification element and the control electrode of the first transistor an auxiliary voltage at a voltage level short of causing an even flow of current through the two transistors to activate the first transistor while a first input voltage is not input. |
