摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of varying a lighting rate of each light source while suppressing decrease in a black insertion effect (an effect to prevent motion blur in a moving picture or multi-contour lines) due to leakage of light between light sources in a backlight source.SOLUTION: When an LED light source group L7 with a lowest lighting rate and located at the center of LED light source groups L1 to L12 is regarded as a reference light source, LED light source groups L1 to L6 in a preceding lighting sequence than the LED light source group L7 in LED light source groups L1 to L6 and L8 to L12 that are set to have a higher lighting rate than the LED light source group L7, are controlled to vary the lighting rates by delaying a finish time point of a lighting period in a case of intermittently lighting at the same lighting rate as the LED light source group L7; and the LED light source groups L8 to L12 in a succeeding lighting sequence than the LED light source group L7 are controlled to vary the lighting rates by advancing a start time point of a lighting period in a case of intermittently lighting at the same lighting rate as the LED light source group L7.
