The device (1) has a carrier bolt (12) coupled with two telescopic sections to move the telescopic sections relative to each other. A latching element i.e. locking bolt, latches the telescopic sections relative to each other. A control unit (13) allows or blocks a movement of the carrier bolt and/or the latching element. The control unit is rotatably mounted and connected with the carrier bolt such that a rotational position of the control unit depends on a position of the driver element. A positioning device (11) i.e. hydraulically actuatable positioning device, positions the latching unit.
