PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PVA-based resin-containing electrolyte which is capable of suppressing the deterioration thereof, has a high level of safety, and is superior in breakdown voltage characteristic.SOLUTION: The electrolyte for activation of an electrolytic capacitor comprises: a solvent chiefly containing γ-butyrolactone and/or alkyl-γ-butyrolactone; an electrolyte; and a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin having a polymerization degree of 50-2000, a saponification degree of 5.0-85.0 mol%, and sodium of no more than 10 ppm. |
