PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix metalloprotease-1 inhibitor capable of inhibiting a matrix metalloprotease-1 by the action mechanism through physiological intercellular transmission effects.SOLUTION: A matrix metalloprotease-1 inhibitor includes piceatannol as an active ingredient. The piceatannol may be a chemical compound or may be derived from natural products. For example, an extract of passion fruit seeds, which are rich in piceatannol, may be used. The matrix metalloprotease-1 inhibitor is suitably applied to prevention of/recovery from decomposition of dermis collagen under a UV irradiated environment. |
