PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring a tread length, configured to accurately measure a tread length by accurately detecting an end without error, from an image frame including the end by image processing.SOLUTION: An image frame having a shape wave formed by acquiring a cross-sectional shape of a tread end along a longitudinal direction is equally divided into regions of a predetermined size. Positions of the regions in the image frame are set. A reference pattern made in advance is matched to the waveform-retaining region including the shape wave of the regions in order to add a feature quantity to the waveform-retaining region. Image recognition is performed with respect to the waveform-retaining region with the usage of a master image in which the feature quantity is added to the shape wave when the tread end is positioned in the center of the image frame stored in advance. The position of the tread end is set on the basis of the combination of the feature quantity with highest reliability. |
