According to one embodiment, a variable-pitch-propeller drive device has a blade of which the pitch angle varies continuously in accordance with the direction of rotation of the propeller shaft, and has a pitch-adjustment device for adjusting the pitch angle, and the pitch-adjustment device comprises: a blade operating shaft disposed so as to be able to perform a linear reciprocating motion inside the propeller shaft in such a way as to either push or pull an eccentric projection coupled to the lower-end part of the blade; and a power-conversion unit for converting the rotational motion of the propeller shaft into the linear reciprocating motion of the blade operating shaft. |
