PURPOSE: A display device, a signal processing apparatus, and a method thereof are provided to improve a problem, in which the dimming signal of all contents is changing when the backlight related brightness degree changes in a plurality of contents, thereby providing the backlight which is suitable for a plurality of contents. CONSTITUTION: A display device is comprised of the followings: an input unit (310) which receives the different kinds of contents; a video processing unit (320) which executes the video processing for a plurality of contents; a display processing unit (330) which generates the dimming signal corresponding to the brightness characteristic by analyzing the brightness characteristic of each video frame; a display panel unit (340) which displays the video frame of a plurality of contents; a backlight driving unit (350) which drives a backlight unit (360) by the dimming signal; and the backlight unit.
