PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and apparatus for improved signaling using high level syntax for multi-view video coding and decoding.SOLUTION: An apparatus includes an encoder for encoding at least one picture for at least one view corresponding to multi-view video content in a resultant bitstream. The encoder signals video coding order information for the at least one picture in a high level syntax. The decoder determines the video coding order from the high level syntax.
