PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure desired image quality and to suppress a data amount to an appropriate amount even when a pulse width of pulsed light with which a subject is irradiated is changed, in a photoacoustic imaging method.SOLUTION: A photoacoustic imaging device 10 includes means 13, 21, 22 irradiating a subject with pulsed light, detecting acoustic waves emitted from the subject at the time, and generating photoacoustic data. In the photoacoustic imaging device, a sampling frequency adjusting means 50 adjusts the frequency of sampling so as to be higher when the pulse width of the pulsed light is smaller. More preferably, the frequency of sampling is adjusted so as to have a roughly fixed magnification with respect to the frequency of a waveform obtained by differentiating a time waveform of the light intensity of the pulsed light. |
