In the present invention, low-frequency driving is performed, wherein a stopped period during which a refresh process is stopped is provided after a charging period during which a screen is refreshed. The length of the charging period is one frame, for example, and the length of the stopped period is 59 frames, for example. When new image data (IMD) is transmitted from a host to an LCD driver IC during a stopped period, an interrupt process is performed immediately thereafter, whereby the stopped period transitions to a charging period. As a result of this interrupt process, the next charging period for performing the refresh process on the basis of the new image data (IMD) can be started without waiting for the completion of a stopped period which has a predetermined length. |
