The method involves clamping a metal blank (1) with a non-circular, elliptic or oval outer contour in a tool (4) and displacing in rotation around a rotational axis (R1). The outer periphery of the metal blank is transformed into an axial area extending perpendicular to the plane of metal blank by multiple rotatable processing rollers (7), which are fed radially in the material of the metal blank on its outer diameter in a plunged manner. The processing roller is radially moved forward and backward corresponding to the outer contour for transforming the outer periphery of the metal blank.
