PURPOSE: A robot cleaner for cleaning a window and a control method thereof are provided to easily recognize a window frame and maintaining the vertical state of the robot cleaner by using a plurality of distance measurement sensing units. CONSTITUTION: A robot cleaner for cleaning a window comprises a first cleaning device and a second cleaning device. The first cleaning device is arranged in one side of a window to be cleaned and includes a first magnetic substance. The second cleaning device is arranged the other side of the window, and includes a second magnetic substance for moving to the same direction of the movement of the first cleaning device by magnetic attraction between the first and second magnetic substances. At least one of the first and second cleaning devices includes a main body, a moving device, and a distance measurement sensing unit, and a control unit. The moving device equipped in the main body moves or rotates the main body. The distance measurement sensing unit equipped in the main body sends out signals to detect a frame of the window to various directions, and receives the reflected signals. The control unit measures the distance between the main body and the window frame by the signals received by the distance measurement sensing unit, and recognizes the positioning of the main body according to the variation of the measured distance resulted by the repositioning of the distance measurement sensing unit. |
