CARTPT mRNA EXPRESSION CELL LABELED ANIMAL AND SCREENING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model animal for achieving an objective of identifying an odorant receptor which is expressed in an olfactory cell expressing a Cartpt gene and an objective of identifying an odor molecule which activates the olfactory cell expressing the Cartpt gene, and to provide a screening method using the same.SOLUTION: A genetically modified nonhuman animal is made by introducing an expression construct including a fluorescent protein gene which is positioned downstream of 5' non-coding sequence including an enhancer and a promoter of a Cartpt gene, 3' non-coding sequence and the promoter and upstream of the 3' non-coding sequence. A method for screening an odor molecule or an odorant receptor uses the animal or a tissue thereof.
