The method involves providing the change of the flow cross-section of a capillary (20) or the change of a component that stands in fluid-connection with the capillaries. The change of capillaries takes place by a valve or by a closure element which is inserted in the non-required capillaries. The change in the flow cross-section of the capillary takes place by a mechanical deformation of the capillary, particularly by the compression or by the other deformation of the capillary walls. An independent claim is included for a refrigerator or freezer with adjusting units.
