Disclosed is a cloud air-conditioning system based on the Internet of Things and cloud computing, comprising a cloud computing center platform, a cloud air conditioner, a client, and a communication network. A network protocol stack is built in an intelligent controller of the cloud air conditioner, so that the cloud air conditioner achieves network interconnection; and multiple cloud service application modules are disposed in the cloud computing center platform, and used for providing corresponding cloud services for the cloud air conditioner and/or the client. The present invention provides a corresponding cloud air-conditioning system application method, comprising: when a cloud air conditioner is installed, a user logging in to a cloud computing center platform for registration, and obtaining a unique user registration ID; after being started, the cloud air conditioner communicating with the cloud computing center platform, and upon receiving communication data of the cloud air conditioner, the cloud computing center platform invoking a cloud service application module to generate an application message and feeding back the message to the cloud air conditioner; upon receiving the application message, the cloud air conditioner correspondingly executing commands in the message. Through the strong data processing technology of the cloud computing center platform, the present invention can give support in core cloud applications between the appliance manufacturer and the cloud air conditioner, between the manufacturer and the user, and between the user and the cloud air conditioner.
