PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a spacer for insertion as a placeholder for an articular endoprosthesis, in which the formation of burs, spikes or other undesired projections needing to be removed is prevented as much as possible.SOLUTION: A cement is filled into a compressed hollow space of a flexible compressed hollow mould, whereby the flexible hollow mould is expanded by the cement flowing into it, the shape of the spacer to be produced is determined, and the cement is then cured in the hollow space, and the spacer produced from the cement is removed from the hollow mould. The hollow mould is flexible and comprises a compressible hollow space, whereby the hollow space in the expanded final state defines the external shape of the spacer and the hollow mould comprises at least one filling opening through which a cement can be filled into the hollow space. |
