PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of editing content to be displayed by an operation through a remote controller and capable of changing the brightness of a display screen to highlight an action to intentionally alter the content made by a malicious person.SOLUTION: An image display device 204a includes: a display section 700a that displays content (image) as an electronic advertisement; an editing section 400 that edits content on the basis of an operation made through a remote controller 100c; and an edit-locking section 1100 that switches between an edit-lock state to prohibit editing of the content and an edit-unlock state permitting editing of the content by receiving an input of a password through the remote controller 100c. The image display device is configured so that, in the edit-lock state, when a password input operation is made to release the edit-lock state, the display brightness of the display section 700 changes.
