PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a tumor cell for resistance to a tubulin binding agent.SOLUTION: A method for screening a tumor cell for resistance to a tubulin binding agent includes detecting the expression of any one or more of class II, class III and class IVb &bgr;-tubulin by a tumor cell, wherein the expression of any one or more of class II, class III and class IVb &bgr;-tubulin indicates that the tumor cell has resistance or potential resistance to the tubulin binding agent.
