PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a web coating apparatus capable of forming a coating film on a web with a high yield by adjusting a coating position before the start of coating.SOLUTION: A coating position can be adjusted by driving a first nozzle horizontal moving mechanism 17 and a second nozzle horizontal moving mechanism 18 to move a nozzle 14 in a conveying direction of a web W and in a direction orthogonal to the conveying direction in a resting period of a conveying mechanism 10 for intermittently conveying the web W. A web lifting mechanism is then driven to lower the web W, and the web W is suction-fixed onto a suction surface table 13 by a suction force generating mechanism to form a horizontal coated surface P. A coating liquid is supplied to the nozzle 14 by a feed mechanism 15, and the coating liquid is ejected from an ejection port of the nozzle 14 maintaining a predetermined coating gap to the upper face of the web W, to form a bead. The first nozzle horizontal moving mechanism 17 is then allowed to scan in the conveying direction of the web W. The bead thereby follows the nozzle 14 to form a coating film on the coated surface P. |
