PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a marking problem point by a dot-type marking method.SOLUTION: A marking device (100) includes: a robot (110) having an arm (111) movable to an arbitrary coordinate point in the XY plane; a nozzle (120) which is mounted on a fore end of the arm to spray paint on steel (610); and a control device (130) for controlling the operation of the arm, and controlling the ON-OFF operation of spraying the paint from the nozzle. The control device (130) calculates the XY coordinate in the XY plane of each dot when a line segment constituting a symbol to be marked is expressed by the dots arrayed at the predetermined spacing, and operates the nozzle (120) at the position of the dot to be expressed by the XY coordinate.
