Disclosed are an uplink closed loop transmit diversity (UL CLTD) activation method and device. The method comprises: a base station receiving configuration information of a UL CLTD from a radio network controller, the configuration information of the UL CLTD comprising a UL CLTD active status cell, and the UL CLTD active status cell being used for indicating an active status to be used when the base station activates the UL CLTD of a user equipment (UE); the base station using the active status indicated by the UL CLTD active status cell to activate the UL CLTD of the UE. The present invention solves the problem in the prior art of the unclearness of which active status is to be used as the initial active status, so as to ensure the implementation of the UL CLTD function. |
