The subject matter of the present invention is an alkyd resin and also the process for preparing such a resin, wherein said alkyd resin comprises: - a polyacid component, which is preferably biobased, or the acid anhydride thereof, which is preferably biobased; - a first polyol component, which is preferably biobased, having at least two hydroxyl groups; - a second biobased polyol component having at least one 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol unit; and - a component based on biobased oil or the corresponding biobased fatty acid thereof.
