The rotor (30) has permanent magnets (33) inserted in magnet receiving holes (32). An annular rotor core (31) comprises a set of projection portions. A radial exterior wall surface of the hole extends toward a radial outer side of the rotor core if the radial exterior wall surface is spaced from a magnetic pole central axis. A concentric circle extends into a radial outermost corner edge portion of the magnets. A corner point extends radially outside from another concentric circle of a rotation center of the rotor. The latter concentric circle extends through another corner point. The permanent magnets are designed as diffusion magnets.
