A portable terminal and a copy prevention method thereof are provided to prevent A-Key copying necessary for authentication and OTA(Over The Air) processes as well as to avoid ESN(Electronic Serial Number) copying, thereby more clearly preventing the terminal from being copied. A wireless communication unit(11) processes a signal in accordance with OTA together with a base station in case of copying. A memory(14) stores a copied ESN, A-Key information, and NAM(Number Allocation Module) information. A controller(15) transmits the copied ESN and the A-Key information to the base station by the OTA with the base station through the wireless communication unit, and receives/stores the NAM information which prevents a copied terminal from being used from the base station to limit terminal copying. |
