PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent dust from entering a starter case.SOLUTION: A recoil starter accommodates a rope reel 3 and a recoil spring 9 which is arranged between the rope reel 3 and an inside surface of a starter case 1 and turns and energizes a recoil rope 2 in a direction of winding the recoil rope, in an accommodation part 11 of the starter case 1. The recoil starter transmits torque of the rope reel 3 to an engine via a cam part 4 rotating around the same shaft as the rope reel 3 to start the engine. A dust-proof cover 15 for covering an opening of the accommodation part 11 is arranged on the engine side of the rope reel 3. A concentric annular rugged part 13 is formed on a side surface of the engine side of the rope reel 3, and a concentric annular rugged part 16 is also formed on the dust-proof cover 15. The annular rugged part 16 of the dust-proof cover 15 is formed of a nested structure to be put into the annular rugged part 13 of the rope reel 3, and the rope reel 3 and recoil spring 9 are accommodated into the accommodation part 11. |
