PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of testing receiver sensitivity of a receiver of a wireless device embedded in a host device.SOLUTION: A self-test prediction system predicts an impact of a host device 502 on an embedded wireless device's receiver performance by recording the wireless device's received power. No carrier or pilot signal is necessary to predict the impact. The wireless device's embedded receiver monitors its own received power (e.g., RSSI) from any type of radiated noise from the host device. For receivers that do not provide RSSI referenced to absolute power, an external reference tone is used in order to scale carrier-to-noise data or signal-to-noise data of the measured receiver to an absolute power. The increase in measured received power on the wireless device's receiver correlates to the impact of the host device on the embedded wireless device's receiver sensitivity performance. |
