PURPOSE: An uneven loading prevention apparatus of a belt conveyor and a control method thereof are provided to easily control the serpentine movement state of a conveyor belt. CONSTITUTION: An uneven loading prevention apparatus of a belt conveyor comprises a material sensor (10), a height measurement unit (20), a material dispersion unit (40), and a control unit (30). The material sensor senses the transfer state of a raw material which is transferred by an upper a conveyer belt. The height measurement unit measures the loading height of the raw material which is transferred by the upper conveyor belt. The material dispersion unit disperses the drop point of a lower conveyor belt onto which the transferred material is dropped. The control unit operates the material dispersion unit according to the transfer state which is input from the material sensor unit and the loading height which is measured by the height measurement unit.
