Provided are an interface conversion device and an interface conversion method for connecting hardware having different kinds of interfaces, with which it is possible to prevent the occurrence of errors in data transfer from one piece of hardware to another piece of hardware, or in cases when an error occurs, to re-transfer the data appropriately. The present invention is provided with: a data converting unit (33) for converting data compatible with the communication system of a first interface (4) into a data format compatible with the communication system of a second interface (2); a first data transmitting/receiving unit (31) for transmitting the data received from the first interface (4) to the data converting unit (33); a data storage unit (34) for storing the data converted by the data converting unit (33); and a second data transmitting/receiving unit (32) for transmitting a plurality of data stored in the data storage unit (34), in the sequence in which said data was stored, to a second interface (2) without depending upon the transmission intervals among the plurality of data.
