<p>The liquid crystal display device (100) comprises a first substrate (10) and a second substrate (20) opposing each other, and a liquid crystal layer (30) provided between the first substrate and second substrate. The first substrate and/or second substrate has horizontally aligned film (12, 22) provided on the liquid crystal side. The liquid crystal display device further comprises alignment-maintaining layers (40a, 40b) which are provided between the horizontally aligned film and the liquid crystal layer and which contain a polymer of a photopolymerizable compound. The photopolymerizable compound includes an acrylate or methacrylate group, the polymer in the alignment-maintaining layers includes an acrylate or methacrylate group as residue, and the horizontally aligned film includes an acrylate or methacrylate group.</p> |
