A battery device used alongside an internal combustion engine, such as a battery device for driving the travel motor in, e.g., a hybrid vehicle, equipped with: a molten salt cell in which the electrolytic solution is a molten salt, the molten salt cell being equipped with a cell container; and a heat exchange unit provided on the circulation path of a heat medium for which the internal combustion engine is the heat source, the heat exchange unit being capable of exchanging heat between the molten salt cell and the heat medium.
