PURPOSE: A weather signal processing device and a processing method prevent sidelobe signals by applying a window function in compressing pulses. CONSTITUTION: A pulse compressing unit (210) pulse-compresses received weather signals and a correlation coefficient calculation unit (220) calculates the correlation coefficients based on the received weather signals. A weather variable calculation unit (230) calculates the weather variables based on the correlation coefficients. The correlation coefficient calculation unit includes: a mode selection unit selecting either a time area mode or a frequency area mode; a time area mode unit calculating single polarization coefficients and cross polarization coefficients based on a time area clutter filtering on the received I/Q signals; and a frequency area mode unit calculating the single polarization coefficients based on a frequency area clutter filtering on the received I/Q signals.
