[Class 40 (viii)] A four-terminal network, in which the ratio of the output to the input voltage increases with frequency, comprises two circuits in series with the input terminals 1, 2, Fig. 1, one of the circuits consisting of a resistance R in parallel with a condenser C and the other consisting of a resistance R in parallel with an inductance L wherein L=CR<2> and the output terminals 6, 7 are fed by the voltage across the RC circuit in series with the voltage across the RL circuit stepped up by the transformer 5. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the voltage from the RC circuit is derived over a further transformer whose turns ratio is much smaller than that of transformer 5. The resistances R may be replaced by equivalent resistances on the secondary sides of the transformers, Fig. 3 (not shown).
