A liquid crystal display device and a fabrication method thereof are provided to directly drop liquid crystal to a large-scaled glass substrate including at least a liquid crystal panel and distribute the dropped liquid crystal over the entire panel uniformly by joining pressure between panels for forming the liquid crystal layer in a short time, and form a liquid crystal spreading delay pattern in a sealing element for preventing pollution of the liquid crystal caused by contact between uncured sealing element and the liquid crystal. A liquid crystal display device includes upper and lower substrates defined with a screen display part(113), a sealing element(116) formed along an outer part of the screen display part on the upper substrate(120), a liquid crystal spreading delay pattern(130) formed along an inside of the sealing element, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the first and second substrates. The liquid crystal spreading delay pattern is formed by stacking a black matrix, RGB color filters and an overcoat film in sequence on the second substrate. |
