PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device adaptable for various-type mixed flow production while easily changing the type of hangers depending on the type of workpieces and capable of effectively using a three-dimensional space of a factory having a small site area. SOLUTION: The carrying device comprises a carrying rail 10, hook members 20 to be moved along the carrying rail 10 via a carrying conveyor 13, the hangers 30 formed detachable from the hook members 20 to place workpieces W, a hanger transfer machine 50 for suspending the hangers 30 engaged with the hook members 20 or receiving the hangers 30 suspended on the hook members 20 and removed from the hook members 20, and the carrying conveyor for carrying the hangers 30 to a predetermined position to deliver/receive the hangers 30 between the hanger transfer machine 50 and itself.
