A UNIT DUPLICATING AND VERIFYING METHOD OF DIGITAL EVIDENCE DATA

PURPOSE: A digital proof unit copying and integrity checking method checks the integrity of digital proof data even when a hash value of the copied data has changed due to an appearance and expansion of a bad sector by generating the hash value for a storage device by unit data. CONSTITUTION: From the beginning of unit data, a reading process starts for each sector and bad sectors are reconfirmed. If there is no bad sector, data read at a low level is copied and stored in a storage medium (ST-110). A reference hash value is generated based on a hash value file recording unit data hash values (ST-120). The integrity of a file for which the unit data hash values have been recorded is verified using the reference hash value (ST-130). The integrity of each unit data is verified by identifying the location of the data in the storage medium and studying its hash values (ST-140).
