Class 35 The rotary armature of an A.C. motor or generator comprises a pair of spaced coaxial magnetic discs A1, A2 carrying coils which embrace both discs and have radial portions 1 lying in slots (not shown) in the disc faces. The poles 2 are axially disposed and are excited to alternate polarities round the periphery but of like polarities on either side of the discs. The rotor windings may be distributed in slots covering the whole of the disc faces and it is stated that the machine may be, connected so that A.C. passes through the armature and field windings. |
