Composite polymerization initators are disclosed suitable to prepare polymer brush composites. The composite initators comprise groups of formula (1): -(L)n-CR2-B(RB1)2 (1) covalently anchored to the surface of a solid substrate. Disclosed are also a process for the preparation of the composite polymerization initiator as well as the polymerizaton process providing a polymer brush composite from said composite initiator.
