The device has a changing unit (15) that is provided with connectors for releasably connecting main portion with connectors. A rotary drive device (19) is provided for rotating changing unit with connectors in working plane. A lifting device (20) is provided for raising and lowering changing unit to provide working plane (18) in workspace (21). The rotary drive device is arranged in outside of workspace. An independent claim is included for a machine tool.
