<p>The device i.e. portal-transverse carrier (2), has a hollow profile carrier (6) including an outer cavity at an outer side of a base body wall (12). The outer cavity has a reduced cross-section relative to a cross-section of a base body-cavity (13). The outer cavity is limited by an outer cavity wall, which is connected with the base body wall. Metal solid profiles, metal angular units and stiffening plates are provided at an inner side at the body wall. The outer cavity receives an outer stiffening element (24) i.e. outer stiffening hollow profile, for additional stiffening of the carrier. The outer stiffening element is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. An independent claim is also included for a machine tool.</p> |
