PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to replace content from in a touched area to other areas based on touch input applied to a display unit. CONSTITUTION: A display unit (151) displays content. A sensing unit (140) senses touch input applied to the display unit. A control unit (180) designates an area based on the touch input. The control unit replaces the content to limit the display of the content on the designated area. The sensing unit senses one or both of touch input directly applied to the display unit and touch input closely applied to the display unit.
