The provision of an efficient externally mounted air lubrication system for a ship is desired. An air discharge device is provided with: discharge-side chambers mounted to the bottom of a ship and having air discharge holes in surfaces of the discharge-side chambers, the surfaces being located below the bottom so as to face the bottom; and a supply section for supplying air to the inside of the discharge-side chambers. When the air within the discharge-side chambers is discharged to the outside from the air discharge holes formed in the surfaces located below the bottom so as to face the bottom, the air is sheared by external water flow into fine air bubbles and supplied to the bottom.
