<p>A cosmetic compact comprises a base assembly (101) with an upper surface, a lid assembly (106) to cover the base assembly (101) and having a lower surface and a hinge (116) enabling the lid assembly to rotate about an axis relative to the base assembly. The axis of rotation passes through the perimeter of the base assembly at an oblique angle relative to the bottom surface of the base assembly. The lid assembly (106) is coupled to the base assembly (101) by a single hinge and is thus rotatable with respect to the base assembly about only one axis. The lid assembly is thus rotatable about the axis between a closed position in which the said upper surface is adjacent to the said lower surface and the compact is closed, and an open position, in which the interior of the base assembly is accessible and the said lower surface extends at an angle to the bottom surface of the base assembly.</p> |
