PURPOSE: A primer set for detecting Begomovirus beta-satellite DNA is provided to quickly diagnose the infection by the Begomovirus beta-satellite DNA, thereby minimizing damages of a farm by detecting early the Begomovirus beta-satellite DNA. CONSTITUTION: A primer set for detecting Honeysuckle yellow vein mosaic virus (HYVMV) beta-satellite DNA has primers of sequence numbers 3 and 4. A method for detecting HYVMV DNA comprises the steps of: isolating DNA from a plant sample; amplifying a target sequence of the isolated DNA using the primer set; and detecting the amplified product.
